Speedrunning platformers aren't new in the indie game world. Speedrunning platformers that punish you for excessive boosting, however, I've found to be a rarity.

Glucose Overdose takes this concept and drives it home with a sickly-sweet bubblegum color palette and killing you off when you floor the boost button.

Graphically, it's simple yet colorful. I'm not sure about the yellow/black striped contrasts, they tend to hurt the eyes more than complement each other. The sounds and music are pretty good, although the BGM tends to fade into white noise as you focus on beating the levels. The controls, while responsive, plays a little slower than I expected.

The only issue I had was progressing past a specific level. I know I'm not doing something stupidly simple to progress, so I blame it all on my inability to git gud.

Overall, Glucose Overdose presents an interesting challenge that manages to set itself apart from other platformers.
